Dr Priya Raghavan doses low on the first visit and tops up at the two-week review if needed, rather than dosing high and hoping. Going too far is much harder to undo than going not far enough — there is no reversal agent, and you wait three months.
The effect appears over three to seven days and lasts three to four months, a little longer with repeated treatment as the muscle habit weakens. The frown lines between the brows respond best; horizontal forehead lines that are already etched into the skin at rest will soften but not disappear.
The reason to have this done by a dentist is anatomy. Dentists inject into the face every working day and are trained in its muscles and vessels in a way most injectors are not. Treatment is done in a clinical setting with emergency drugs on site, and the notes go in the same record as your dental treatment.
Common questions
Not at the doses used here. The aim is that the lines soften and the expression still works — if you cannot raise your eyebrows at all, someone has overdone it. That is what the conservative first dose and the two-week review are for.
A few seconds of sharp scratch per injection point, with a very fine needle. Most people describe it as less unpleasant than a dental injection. No anaesthetic is needed and there is no downtime.
Because nothing on this page is urgent or treats an illness, and a great deal of it is sold in the same appointment it is first discussed. Consultation and treatment are separate visits here. Roughly one in five consultations does not convert, which is fine.
