Four ways to change a smile

Teeth whitening
Custom trays scanned and made in-house, worn overnight for two to three weeks. In-clinic whitening in a single 90-minute visit where you need the result sooner. Top-up gel is £45 a syringe afterwards, and your trays last years.

Composite bonding
Tooth-coloured composite sculpted freehand onto the tooth to close a gap, rebuild a chipped edge or even up a worn front tooth. No drilling, reversible, done in one visit. Expect to refresh it every five to seven years.

Porcelain veneers
Where bonding cannot get there — heavy discolouration, badly shaped teeth, a case that needs to hold its colour for a decade. Minimal-prep where the tooth allows it. Five-year guarantee with hygiene appointments kept.

Photographs, scans, a designed proposal you approve on screen, then a trial smile you wear home. Typically three to five appointments over six to ten weeks. Price depends on the number of teeth and is fixed before we start.

The trial smile, and why we insist on it
The most common regret in cosmetic dentistry is not a badly made veneer. It is a well-made veneer in a shape or shade the patient would not have chosen if they had been able to see it on their own face for a week.
So Dr Priya Raghavan works the other way round. We photograph and scan your teeth, design the proposed shape digitally, then bond a temporary composite mock-up straight over your existing teeth — no drilling, nothing removed. You wear it home. You eat with it. You see it in daylight, in photographs, in front of people who know your face.
Most people change something at that stage: a little less length, a squarer corner, a shade down from where they started. Then we make the real thing to the design you have already lived with. If you decide against the whole idea, we lift the mock-up off and you have lost the consultation fee and nothing else.
Common questions
No. Whitening only changes natural enamel, so existing crowns, veneers and white fillings stay exactly the shade they are. If you have visible restorations at the front, we whiten first and replace them afterwards to match — in that order, never the other way round.
We will not place anything brighter than B1 on the standard shade guide, and for most people over forty a shade or two below that reads better against skin tone. We will show you both on the trial smile and let you decide.
Enamel is unaffected at the concentrations a dentist is permitted to prescribe. Sensitivity is common, temporary and usually solved by dropping to alternate nights and using the desensitising gel we send home with the trays.
