What we treat, and what we decline

Volume loss in the mid-face, folds from the nose to the mouth, downturned corners, and lips. Most first treatments here are a single millilitre and a great many are half. Filler works best where it restores something that has gone rather than adds something that was never there.

We do not treat noses and we do not treat under-eyes. Both sit near vessels where the consequence of getting it wrong is vascular occlusion or, rarely, blindness, and both are best done by someone who does them every week. We will refer rather than attempt them occasionally.

Hyaluronic acid only, no permanent fillers, ever. Permanent filler that migrates or forms nodules ten years later cannot be removed without surgery, and a proportion of it does. Everything used here dissolves with an injection of hyaluronidase, usually within a day or two.

Common questions

Swelling for two to three days, and bruising is common, particularly in lips. Avoid anything blood-thinning for a few days beforehand where it is safe to do so, and do not book this in the week before an event.

We dissolve it. Hyaluronidase breaks hyaluronic acid down within a day or two and you go back to where you started. This is the whole reason we will not use anything permanent.

Not at these volumes. What people recognise as “filler face” is many millilitres placed over years without anyone standing back, which is a reason to have a practitioner willing to say no rather than a reason to avoid filler.
