A price before you agree
Every treatment plan is written down with fixed prices before anything starts. If a treatment turns out to need more work than the plan allowed, we absorb it rather than re-quote you halfway through.
About the clinic
Three surgeries on Montpellier Parade in 2009. Seven now, plus four in Wetherby. Still owned by the dentists who work in it, which in a market where most independent practices have been bought by groups is the least interesting and most important thing on this page.
“Independent” on a dental website usually means nothing. Here is what it means in practice, in the three places a patient would notice.
Appointment length is a clinical decision. A new patient examination takes 45 minutes because that is what it takes to do properly, not because a regional manager set the slot at 20 and the dentist has to make it work. Nobody here has a monthly revenue target.
Materials are chosen, not supplied. Our crowns come from a technician in Leeds we have used since 2011 and who attends complex try-in appointments himself. He is not the cheapest option and there is no procurement policy requiring us to use one.
Nobody has left. Not one clinician has resigned since we opened, which is the single statistic we are most proud of and the hardest one for a group-owned practice to match. It means continuity of care is real here rather than aspirational: the person who planned your treatment in 2016 can tell you today why they made that choice.
Four commitments that shape every appointment here. They are also the four things we would want to know if we were choosing a dentist.
One
Every treatment plan is written down with fixed prices before anything starts. If a treatment turns out to need more work than the plan allowed, we absorb it rather than re-quote you halfway through.
Two
We will propose bonding before veneers, a filling before a crown, and orthodontics before either where the real problem is position rather than shape. Enamel does not grow back.
Three
Cosmetic and facial aesthetics consultations are always on a different day from treatment. You get the plan, you go home, you decide.
Four
Five years on crowns, veneers and bridges; ten on implants; two years of orthodontic reviews and retainers included. Conditional only on keeping your hygiene appointments.
Five
We decline treatment where the expectation is not achievable or the tooth is not worth saving. Roughly a third of new patients leave their first examination needing nothing.
Six
If you come to us for one treatment and stay NHS elsewhere, we write to your dentist afterwards. Split care only works if the notes are not split too.
Montpellier Parade, Harrogate. A Victorian sandstone terrace a hundred metres from the Montpellier Quarter, converted in 2009 and extended into the floor above in 2018. Seven surgeries, a decontamination room, the CBCT scanner and the milling unit. There is no on-site parking; the Montpellier Hill car park is a three-minute walk and the station is eight.
Bellwood Yard, Wetherby. A Georgian townhouse on Westgate with four surgeries and its own car park, opened in 2016. Step-free from the rear entrance. More about the Wetherby clinic.
Both are listed buildings, which is why the Harrogate stairs are what they are. If steps are difficult, book at Wetherby or ask for a ground-floor surgery at Harrogate when you call — we hold two.
You are welcome to look round either clinic before booking anything. Ring ahead and we will find a quiet twenty minutes with whoever is on reception.
